The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

So, I just got my copy of the DVD today, finally. It was only released in Ireland on Monday 3rd of May, that's the price we pay over here! I have to admit, I did download a copy of it off the internet, and I felt really bad about it. But I knew that I would be getting my hands on a copy of the DVD as soon as it came out! There was just no way on earth I could wait that long!

Anyway, I got it now. The first thing I did when I got home (except blabber mindlessly about how excited I was on Twitter) was watch the commentaries. All I heard (via the internet) was how insanely funny the commentary was. I've got to say, everyone was right. I laughed my ass off the whole way through! I'm not exaggerating or anything, I seriously had to pause and go get a tissue to wipe tears out of my eyes from laughing so much! Sean really made me laugh, but all four of them together - comedy gold! I could sit here and quote it all night! "Shut up Reedus!" "Squeezer to the dome, BHAGEE!"

Not only was it funny, it explained a few things that I didn't really understand, e.g. the tomato and salt thing! I thought that was pretty cool and I never would of understood that had I not of watched the commentary!

The deleted scenes were great as well. The scene when the detectives mourn for Greenly - Man! That really tugged on my heartstrings! It made me all teary eyed, the same way watching Greenly and Rocco die in the movies did, and still does! Every single time. I've been watching the first movie for years, and the scene where Rocco dies still makes me tear up. Seeing him back in the second for the dream sequence - My heart did back-flips!

But the thing that I really loved about the DVD was the 'Behind the scenes' feature. Things like getting to see Rocco getting his lines wrong, it reminded me of the infamous out takes from the first Boondock. Or Norman hitting the sound mic, and hearing the actors talking about how geared up they were for making Boondock II! You can really tell that everyone is immensely proud to be part of this film in some way, no matter how big or small, be it on-screen or off. But going back to things bringing tears to my eyes, Troy's last lines -

"Boondock fans, we never forgot you. And this is my repayment to you, for doing all that you've done. Boondock fans not only made the first film successful, in doing that they helped make the second film. You've put food in my mouth and clothes on my back for the last ten years and 'Boondock II' is my repayment to you for doing that. This is your movie."
That last line really got me. I just feel like we all need to just shout "Thank you, Troy 'Mother-Fuckin' Duffy, and the whole Boondock crew!" I have passed my DVDs on so many times, I've had to replace it 3 times because people kept it and didn't want to give it back. I only got my copy of 'Boondock II' today and already 3 of my friends have asked to borrow it!

What I had to go through to get this DVD; saving £1 from my lunch money every day for 20 days to be able to afford it and waiting an eternity to get it - worth it all!
